Why synthetic oils?

Wear protection, extreme temperature performance and fuel efficiency

You may be aware that synthetic oils outperform conventional oils, but you may not be aware of why.

Synthetic oils are free of the contaminants and molecular abnormalities seen in traditional oils. Synthetics’ clean, uniform molecular structures impart features that traditional lubricants can’t match, such as wear prevention, extreme temperature performance, and fuel efficiency – all of which helps you save money by making your vehicles operate better and last longer.

Conventional lubricants, on the other hand, are made from crude oil that has been refined. Sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen, and metal components like nickel and vanadium are all naturally present in crude oil and cannot be totally eliminated by the refining process. The oil refining process separates the different types of molecules in the oil by weight, leaving molecules that are similar in weight but not in structure that is lowering performance.

Synthetic vs. Conventional

Metal surfaces in your engine are separated from touching and producing wear by only a tiny oil film. Due to their robust base oils, Atkinson Oil synthetic motor oils generate a more durable oil film than conventional lubricants. They assist you extend the life of your engine by reducing wear.

Motor oils thicken and flow slower when the temperature decreases, leaving sections of your engine exposed for a brief period of time. Atkinson Oil is more fluid in freezing conditions than the standard oil tested, making cold starts much easier and faster. This means it can get to critical components faster, protecting the engine more rapidly and reducing wear.

To meet increasingly stringent fuel economy norms, vehicle manufacturers are modifying engine designs, resulting in engines that run hotter than ever. The operating temperature can reach 113 °C on average, and it can get significantly hotter under heavy loads. Oil can quickly degrade due to the heat, resulting in oxidation, sludge, and deposits. Atkinson Oil synthetic line keeps engines cleaner than standard oil by inhibiting deposit formation.

In conventional oils, the base oils comprise molecules of various sizes and weights, as well as undesirable elements such as wax. This usually necessitates more energy to circulate throughout your engine, lowering fuel efficiency. Atkinson Oil synthetic line, on the other hand, are made using molecularly homogenous synthetic base oils that blend readily and are free of undesirable elements. They help in reducing frictional energy loss and maximising fuel economy.

In case of excessive oil consumption, there may not be enough oil to reach all of your engine’s intricate parts, which could result in damage. Atkinson Oil synthetic line consume less oil than the standard mineral oils resulting fewer top-offs.

Atkinson Oil synthetic motor oils are engineered to lower emissions, last longer, and use less fuel, all of which contribute to environmental protection. They are more resistant to oxidation than conventional oils, reducing exhaust emissions, and extended-drain Atkinson Oil synthetic oils produce less waste oil and packaging waste since  users need less oil throughout the year.
